Roger Mercer

Roger Mercer is a British archaeologist whose work has concentrated on the Neolithic and Bronze Age of the British Isles.[1]

Between 1970 and 1973 he led the excavations at Carn Brea in Cornwall and then went on to direct the excavations at Hambledon Hill and Grimes Graves, a Neolithic flint mine. He became a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh before becoming Secretary of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS).[2] He retired in 2004.
